Abstract

The shipbuilding of traditional fishing boats made of wood on the island of Bengkalis is currently difficult to do because of the difficulty of obtaining raw materials, for that fishermen are advised to move to fiberglass boats. However, there are several obstacles from each region including: For the order of priority problems in Jangkang Village, that is starting with the problem of availability of fiberglass materials, followed by problems: Cost of building fiberglass boats, unsuitable shape and model of ship, labor / human resources, time of ship production fiberglass, the risk of building fiberglass boats, fiberglass shipbuilding facilities, fiberglass shipbuilding equipment, and the last is interest in fiberglass boats. In contrast to the coastal Pambang Village the main priority is the cost of building fiberglass boats which is followed by the availability of fiberglass materials, fiberglass shipbuilding equipment, interest in fiberglass boats, the shape and model of the ship is not suitable, the risk of building fiberglass ships, labor / human resources, facilities fiberglass shipbuilding, and the last is the time of fiberglass ship production
