Challenges Implementing English Learning at State Polytechnic of Bengkalis

Abstract

Language is a very important to use in everyday life, especially when communicating with others. In addition to engaging in conversation, language can be used to convey thoughts, feelings, and desires. A person can converse with everyone more easily the more languages they can speak. The world language that we know is of course English. So as college students, we should be able to master the language because it will come in handy once we start working. State Polytechnic of Bengkalis is one among the universities that mandates English language proficiency for all college students. They need to be able to write and pronounce vocabulary in accordance with the pronunciation of the language in addition to grasping the meaning of the language itself. However, difficulties and barriers that pupils must overcome in order to learn English. Less than ideal student learning outcomes in terms of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and other areas may result from these challenges. Therefore, I will go over the issues that College students have while putting their English study into practice in this essay, along with solutions.

The challenges in implementing English instruction at the Bengkalis State Polytechnic have the following effects Learning problems come from two factors, namely internal factors including attitudes towards learning, learning motivation, learning concentration, study habits and external factors including the learning process driven by students’ intrinsic motivation.
