Pengujian Kecepatan Perahu Sampan Sebagai Sarana Transportasi Perairan Rawa di Wilayah Bagan Benio
Abstract
In this research, the speed of a canoe measuring length (L) 550 cm, width (B) 100 cm, height (H) 35 cm and draft (H) 15 cm was carried out. The canoe is made of wood which is laminated using fiberglass on the outer shell. The drive system used is a combustion engine which is placed on the rear deck and is mounted on a long shaft with a power of 9 HP and a shaft tilt angle of around 20°. Testing was carried out using 2 methods, namely the simulation method using the Maxsurft hullspeed software and sea trial. Based on testing these 2 methods, a difference of 33% was obtained so that the actual efficiency of the propulsion system was 40.2%.
