Sistem Kontrol dan Monitoring Penerangan Jalan Umum Panel Surya Berbasis Internet of Things (IoT)
Abstract
Electricity is a crucial need in human life, affecting various daily activities. Most tasks require electrical energy, and any shortage can disrupt these activities. One alternative for providing electricity is by using Solar Power Plants, which convert sunlight into electricity through solar panels. Solar Power Plants is known as a renewable and eco-friendly energy source, as it does not produce air pollution or greenhouse gas emissions during its operation. Solar Power Plants system is also a practical solution for remote areas or islands because it can be installed quickly and easily. However, challenges arise in the field when solar power plants-based public street lighting is installed, including monitoring battery conditions, detecting damaged streetlights, and preventing theft. To address these issues, the proposed solution involves installing sensors that can monitor battery conditions (voltage and current sensors), detect the status of the public street lighting lights when active (LDR sensor), and prevent theft (GPS sensor). The data collected from the sensors is transmitted via a GPRS network using the SIM800L module for real-time monitoring by users. By installing sensors on Solar Power Plants-based street lighting, ongoing issues in the field can be addressed continuously. The test results show an average error of 0.81% for voltage measurements and 1.45% for current measurements. The NEO 7M sensor outperformed the smartphone GPS with a difference of 2.946 meters. The LDR sensor is active high, with an output voltage of 3.3 volts when there is light, while the relay module is active low, with an output voltage of 0 volts at the relay data pin. The battery charging duration was found to be 570 minutes, and the battery usage duration is 2.5 hours.
